Publishers: How to Submit a Book for Consideration

Submissions for books published in 2010 are currently being accepted.

For each title you nominate, fill out one copy of the 2010-2011 nomination form(pdf) and send the form and one copy of the nominated book to Randy L. Seagraves, the liaison to the Growing Good Kids Book Awards Committee. There is no limit to the number of books any one publisher can nominate for the award.
>>Nominations for books published in 2010 must be received by April 22, 2011.

If your book meets the requirements described below, you'll be invited to forward one copy of the book to each member of the Good Kids Book Awards Committee - names and addresses of the committee members will be provided at that point.


Requirements for consideration for the annual Growing Good Kids Book Award:
1. The power of the story to:
* engage children
* effectively  promote an understanding of and appreciation for gardening and the environment
* convey a positive message effectively

2. The power of the illustration/design to:
* appeal to children
* represent the story effectively
* promote an understanding of and appreciation for gardening and the environment

Other criteria considered include originality, cultural diversity, "timelessness," scientific accuracy of realistic portrayals, and the physical quality of the publication. Books considered must be published in the calendar year before the award year.
