"Growing Good Kids Excellence in Children's Literature" Book Awards Program

The Junior Master Gardener Program and the American Horticultural Society will honor engaging, inspiring works of garden- and ecology-themed children's literature through the new "Growing Good Kids - Excellence in Children's Literature Awards" Program. This award will recognize a select group of children's books that are especially effective at promoting an understanding of and appreciation for gardening and the environment.
Below are a list of frequently asked questions regarding the "Growing Good Kids - Excellence in Children's Literature Awards" Program.
How can I find the winners?
The winners for the Growing Good Kids Book Awards will be unveiled each year at the AHS National Children & Youth Garden Symposium Award winners will be posted and featured here immediately after the awards program.
How can I nominate a title?
For each title you nominate, fill out one copy of the nomination form and send the form and one copy of the nominated book to Randy L. Seagraves, the liaison to the Growing Good Kids Book Awards Committee. There is no limit to the number of books any one publisher can nominate for the award. Nominations for books published in 2010 must be received by April 22, 2011. For more information, click here.
What is the CLASSICS list?
During the charter year of this awards program, the 2005 Growing Good Kids - Excellence in Children's Literature Awards Program, any books published before 2005 are being considered in a unique category of "CLASSICS." After this charter year, new books will be recognized annually for the year they are published.

The Growing Good Kids Book Awards Program was developed and sponsored by a collaboration of the Junior Master Gardener Program and the American Horticultural Society.
